Kahlin was born on September 5,1984. She attended Otis Memorial Elementary School at the time of her death.
Kahlin enjoyed swimming, drawing, and creating fairy gardens. She loved to read books that took her to special places. She was a child of wonder. Her days were spent wondering what bugs did for fun, wondering what it would be like to talk to a fairy, and wondering what it would be like to have a younger sister. Kahlin knew that bugs had fun because they seemed to have playtime all the time, she knew that fairies spoke to each other and left her gifts, but she never met her younger sister.
