Lynne Dawn Butler
1962 - 1974
Lynne was born on October 19, 1962. She attended at the Stowell School (present Bourne Public Library) at the time of her death. Lynne's hobby was collecting ceramic cats. Her interests were in Girl Scouts and dancing where she was a member of the Sandra Baker Dancers. Lynne also played softball in the town summer program. She also enjoyed attending Camp Bernadette in New Hampshire.
Lynne was a popular little girl, which was substantiated by the Town voting to name a park in Buzzards Bay in her honor. An electric scoreboard was installed at the Stowell School, purchased with donations from friends, neighbors and school personnel in memory of Lynne. Lynne Dawne was named after her grandfather, Lyndon Butler, who coincidentally passed away on Lynne's birthday several years ago.
Stacey Lynne Butler, Lynne's niece and a student of the Bourne High School class of 2003, was one of the high school students who planted the daffodils around the beautiful Memorial Garden.
